The third and final trail I hiked on Memorial Day was Crawford Trail in the Dripping Springs area. Unlike La Cueva and Fillmore trails, however, Crawford Trail isn’t a scenic trail. One wouldn’t make a special trip, for instance, just to hike it. Crawford Trail’s purpose is to connect Dripping Springs trail and Fillmore trail. This makes it more convenient for hikers to get from one trail to the other and for hikers on FIllmore Trail to get back to the vister’s center without back tracking all the way to La Cueva, which is the reason I took it.
Crawford has 0% shade, which was probably a main contributing factor to my sunburn, and there’s only one bench about 3/4 of the way from Fillmore to Dripping Springs. I won’t be taking Crawford Trail ever again, but I did manage to get a few good shots of the view of the visiter’s center and some of the rock formations.
