I left the Grand Canyon around 6:30am. My original plan was to spend some time at the park, taking pictures of the sunrise and its effects on the canyon, but with all the rain I figured the point was moot. So instead I headed out of the campground down the eastern road towards Utah and Zion National Park.
However, on the drive out of the park, I was caught off guard by some spectacular overlook points. The view of the canyon was quite amazing in a completely different way than the day before. Fog was rolling through and you couldn’t see hardly at all, but it was still uniquely lovely and mysterious. I took time and stopped to take some pictures before continuing my way along.
Up next…Arriving in Zion National Park!
