Since I was already in the Elkmont area, I figured it made sense to go ahead and hike the short .75 mile Nature Trail. It’s not like that trail was on my bucket list, or anything, but this vacation was all about relaxing and rolling with the punches, as opposed to sticking to a strict schedule.
The first thing I noticed about the trailhead was there’s very little parking (only 5 spaces in total), probably because the people camping at the Elkmont campground can just walk right over. Secondly, out of all the little Nature Trails I’ve done recently, this one was probably the easiest, but there was still some nice wildlife. Would I hike it again? No. Am I glad I went while I was in the neighborhood? Yes.
