I had wanted to visit Edwin Warner Park for some time and check out the trails. Finally a Saturday came around with no rain and (somewhat) bearable humidity, which made it as good of a day as any to be outdoors. In hindsight, I really should’ve woken up earlier to try and beat some of the heat, but I’ve never been much of a morning person, especially on the weekends when I have the chance to sleep in for a change 🙂
Harpeth Woods Trail is a 2.4-mile loop, which can be accessed from several points. Having never been on the trail before, however, I thought it best to keep it simple and start at the main trailhead. Although the parking lots were incredibly packed (I ended up parking in designated a grass field with many others), the trail never seemed busy. I passed dozens of trail runners and hikers with dogs, but the trail was so quiet, I felt completely alone the majority of the time (the trailhead and the Nature Center being the exception to the rule).
