Upon the completion of both Hidden Lake Trail and Ridge Loop Trail, I still had plenty of daylight to spare, so I drove to the next tract of Harpeth River State Park – Narrows of the Harpeth. The trails in this section wouldn’t be long enough to count towards my hiking challenge, but they were nearby and I had never been, so it seemed worth doing.
Bluff Overlook Trail is only one-third of a mile long, but to get to the bluff in order to do the overlooking, you must climb, and boy, was it steep! Thankfully I’m not in terrible shape, so I was able to knock it out relatively quickly. I must say that the climb was worth every single step. The view from the overlook was stunning! Another hiker and I sat on some of the rocks at the top for awhile and enjoyed the view of the Harpeth River below.
