Instead of turning around and taking the one-way High Ridge Trail back the way I came, I decided to continue onto the 2.1 mile, one-way Shoreline Trail. Unlike the previous trail, Shoreline was practically flat the entire way and I passed several people along the way, from fellow hikers to trail runners to the people in the various campsites along the way. Maybe it was the weather, or maybe it was seeing the birds and fish on and in the water, but the lake was just so enticing, beckoning all who viewed it to enjoy in everything it had to offer. Dozens of people could be found at every pier, attempting their hand at fishing, and I even saw a few birders setting out with their binoculars. Even though the trail wasn’t challenging by any means, I would definitely still recommend it in a heartbeat.
